North Mountain at Dusk

Acrylic painting of North Mountain at Dusk.

It isn’t easy painting acrylic outdoors due to quick drying. I suppose watercolor drys quickly outdoors too, but I prefer watercolor for outdoor painting.

This was painted outdoors at dusk. I probably did paint 1 or 2 hours a day over the period of 2 or 3 days. Painting at dusk means the light disappears quicker!

Arizona Canal Trail

Acrylic studio painting, View of S Mountain from the Arizona Canal Trail.

This is a studio painting, painted over the course of a few nights. I was using a watercolor painting I did on location outdoors as the reference.

S mountain peers over the Arizona Canal Trail, I am standing at the South edge of Sunnyslope.

Power Lines and Palm Trees

Acrylic studio painting of power lines and palm trees.

This is a studio painting that took a few nights. I was using a watercolor painting I did on location as the reference.

I wanted to try something different and created a silhouette of the power lines and palm trees.
